Hyderabad: Buoyed by the overwhelming public response to the formation of smaller districts, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday instructed top officials to prepare a roadmap with a slogan – “ Know Your District – Make A Plan For Your District” for the holistic development of all 31 districts in the next 8 to 10 years. The Chief Minister held a high-level meeting with officials and discussed the measures to be taken to ensure that the benefits of all welfare programmes reach the needy in the new districts. The officials were asked to prepare plans and roadmap for each district by taking into consideration the natural resources available and the requirements of each district. He cautioned the officials not to take hasty decisions with regard to the development of the districts as the funds would be allocated depending on the plans prepared by the authorities. KCR asserted that the administrative reforms introduced as part of the formation of new districts was intended to facilitate good governance and greater transparency in the administration. District Collectors were given all power to serve people at their doorstep as the population of each district was not more than five lakh in many new districts. The senior officials had been asked to guide young Collectors in the new districts and monitor the district administration regularly. KCR urged the officials to ensure speedy redressal of public grievances in Revenue, Energy, Education, Health and Medical and Panchayat Raj Departments. Regular supply of seeds and other inputs and providing remunerative price to agriculture produce to the farmers would be given utmost priority. The officials were also instructed to promote TS iPASS and invite investments in the districts. The Chief Minister said he would soon hold district Collectors’ conference to ascertain the requirements in the new districts including the targets set by each department. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and other officials were present in the meeting.
