As is a norm with him, superstar Mahesh Babu skipped the muhurat ceremony of his yet-untitled film with Koratala Siva in Hyderabad on Wednesday. However, the principal team director Siva, composer Devi Sri Prasad and cinematographer were in attendance and participated in the pooja ceremony before producer Suresh Babu sounded the clapboard for the first shot. Speaking later, Siva said that he penned a powerful subject than ‘Srimanthudu’ and the film will raise the bar of Telugu cinema. “Mahesh would be seen in a never before role. The casting of the heroine is underway, while big names will be playing supporting roles,” he said. Acclaimed cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, who is making his Tollywood debut with the project, a DVV Danayya production, said that he had tweeted three years ago that Mahesh is his favourite hero and that he is excited to associate with his film finally. “Technically, it would be a superior film,” he noted. To go on floors from February next year, the makers have locked Dasara as the release date for the film.
