Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Wednesday condemned the government’s decision to put off the monsoon session of the state legislative assembly and council. In a statement, party leader in the assembly K Jana Reddy and leader of opposition in the council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had agreed to convene the monsoon session from September 20 onwards. “The chief minister went back on his promise and did not even have the courtesy of informing all floor leaders why the session has been postponed. This is nothing but an exhibition of utter disrespect for the state legislature. Probably, no other chief minister in the country would treat the assembly in this manner,” they said.
