India vs New Zealand 2nd Test, Day 3 in Kolkata: India bowlers keep New Zealand guessing

The third Test between India and New Zealand enters its third day as the hosts look to take advantage of the good work done on Day 2 in Kolkata. India bowlers, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, ran through New Zealand middle order after more than a two-and-a-half long rain delay. New Zealand ended Day 2 at 128/7, still trailing India by a massive 188 runs in the first innings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket before bad light forced early stumps and full overs were not possible. He first dismissed Martin Guptill early in the New Zealand innings and later picked up Henry Nichollas after Lunch. But early Tea was taken as rain arrived 30 minutes before scheduled time of Tea. After resumption, Bhuvneshwar picked up three wicket, two on consecutive balls, to floor the Black Caps. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja picked up a wicket each as well. The play will start 25 minutes early on Sunday. Earlier in India’s first innings, they were dismissed for 316. The last three wickets added 76 runs to their overnight score of 239/7 with Wriddhiman Saha scoring an unbeaten half-century.
