Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed his shock over the demise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The Chief Minister said that Jayalalithaa’s followers and admirers regarded her as ‘Puratchi Thalavi’ (revolutionary leader). He said Jayalalithaa was the political heir of great Tamil icon MG Ramachandran.
“In her passing, the State of Tamil Nadu has a great void, which is difficult to fill. It is a great loss to Tamil society,” the Chief Minister said. He described Jayalalithaa as the unique person in contemporary Tamil Nadu politics to have won the Assembly elections consecutively for two terms. He expressed his condolences to the people of Tamil Nadu.
