Five crore cash award announces for Sindhu from TS govt.

The KCR government has announced a cash award of Rs 1 crore for shuttler PV Sindhu, who scripted history by bagging the silver in women’s singles competition at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao congratulated PV Sindhu for her scintillating and spectacular performance in the Rio Olympics winning silver medal. KCR said Sindhu is pride of India and Telangana in particular. Das Gupta also announced an award of Rs 10 lakh for national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, who trained Sindhu to achieve this feat. Also Madhya Pradesh government announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh.

Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta also announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu.
